Goodbye Yesterday, Welcome Tomorrow
So, it is a new year yet again. 2022 has been filled with both a lot of joy and a lot of problems. It has been a mighty challenge for me to keep up with the short story prompts and I’m pleased to look back and see we’ve made it to 20, just a little less than half a year’s worth. I personally have enjoyed the challenge thus far and of course hope all of you have as well. I thank all of you who have taken the time to enjoy them and support my endeavor to produce fun, silly, and sometimes weird content for the website and of course, for all of you.
2022 was also the year of Devil of Gilding’s 5-year release anniversary. I was so happy to do the giveaways and share with those who have been wanting a copy. As I said, to those who won, it isn’t easy for an author to have contact with their readers, and it is always enjoyable to share what took years to create. Call it rather reminiscent to a proud parent putting a bumper sticker on their car for their children.
I also want to apologize for not being able to do a giveaway for Fallen Angel this past year as promised, I am planning to do one later on in 2023 so please keep a look out for that, and of course more.
Honestly, I had many grand ideas for 2022. I wanted to start posting serials on the website as well as doing a bit more updating, and a few other things that I had planned and placed in my castle in the cloud. Those things didn’t quite pan out like I would have liked. I realize that things sometimes just are that way. It has been very hard grappling with so many things on my own. And it is very easy to get disappointed and discouraged when things don’t go to plan. But even so I am grateful for the few who appear to be enjoying the content and those supporting the website and myself.
Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not down, I haven’t given up, just as much as you need muscles to swim, I understand that you need fat to float and I’m working on it… at least when it comes to producing content for all of you.
So now that we have sufficiently reflected on the past year it’s time for the update on what to expect in the new one.
With the dawn of 2023, I plan to keep on, though I will be taking a break from January 1st to March 31st. Which is a fancy way of saying the short stories will resume posting in April. I will be keeping the Wednesday schedule. It is my favorite day of the week and so I would like to continue to honor it with short stories through 2023 as well. This will hopefully mean around 39 new shorts for the website for all of you to enjoy.
I am also going to be exploring a few other avenues to enhance the blog, as well as using my break to set up a site member only area which will have more special short stories just for members and much, much more.
The final big announcement for 2023 is that there will be an up-and-coming new release sometime this coming fall. Keep your eyes out for sneak peeks and other updates, as well as special offers and much, much more.
I’m hoping that this will be a beautiful year for all of us and that Jesus will give us all the strength and peace to face any difficulty that comes our way. Happy reading and see you in the near future.
